Can anyone recommend a good ceramic coating that I can apply at home?

@DougieB have you asked if you are allowed to do this via Motability?
It;s just a case of getting a ceramic coating and just slapping it on. There is a lot of work involved in the whole process Dougie. The paint need a lot of preparation prior to appling the caramic coating. I would advise that you look to having it done professional. Costs in my area aroun £500 to 700.
Look on youtube to see what is involved is my advice, and gety permission from Motability first.
Have a look at this web site. A guy near me who is a pro in the business. It will give you an idea of what is involved. https://www.thegleamingcar.co.uk/

To do the whole car, wheels and glass took me 3 days and was hard going.  Paint was an early start with decontamination and washes then application of ceramic layer.
I believe Motability didn’t allow a ceramic treatment on its cars, so I’d definitely check before buying anything.
If it’s just about having a clean car there are some decent hydrophobic options that will keep the car cleaner for a few weeks.

Its a part ceramic (Silica) coating. 1ltr does a long time at 1;50 dilution.
You slide off the car if you lean on it. Does the windows as well, better than RainX.
Apply it, snow foam or spray to a wet car, leave it for 5 mins and towel it off. Best results when you towel it off, give it a slight buff with a dry microfibre.
I ve tried a few treatments and this is by far the best.
No need to consult Motability either.
