Fact of the day
As mentioned on a previous thread today is Blue Monday, the third Monday of January, the most depressing day of the year. It shares a date this year with the most dangerous day of the year to drive.
Stay safe everyone!

How does it feel

And you’ve laid your hands upon me

ParticipantBeing ‘Blue Monday’ I guess we should take as a positive that we have now had a 3 day break in the continual decline in the number of cars available through the Motability scheme. I know that two of those three days were the weekend but hey, it’s something 😉

Yes, very odd. You can understand that there might be reasons why some cars go off the scheme for a few months, if there are supply issues for example, but to come off for a week or so and then go back on makes no sense whatsoever.

That’s interesting Mike. It doesn’t get rave reviews but that’s superb mpg. I bought my wife a brand new Rav 4 2.0GX Auto in 2002 and she absolutely loved it. In fact we kept it for 10 years until she became eligible for the Motability scheme and we were both sad to see it go, other than the fact that we started having engine management warnings due to sensors failing, but it had been faultless in the first 10 years. She still talks of it as her favourite car of all time. Might have to give it a second look.

Not sure I’d want the MG, but good to see more EV,s and especially the increase in BHP, hopefully a sign of things to come as the current 200bhp limit excludes many EV’s

ParticipantGood to see a few more coming on to scheme. Some of them quite good, too. Would seriously think about the PHEV Seats and the all-electric Peugeots. Proper car-sized things, not tanks!
Brydo
Great day for EVs 👍
martinod
Tharg can i ask what is a ”Proper car-sized things, not tanks”
peugeot 208 and seat leon are small cars i think
martinod
how long will the xc40 recharge stay on , i think it was 5 days last time
Brydo
Tharg I am gutted I missed it, the xc40 phev was top of my list, in the absence of a decent size BEV, (that the wife liked lol). I asked motability about it coming on the scheme, before we ordered the petrol version, and was told it was unlikely to be on the scheme. Even the motability salesman smiled when I asked him about it.
