As James is taking a well earned break, I have rustled up a couple of spreadsheets to try and make a fist of covering for him.
I can report that at 8:20 on the morning of Monday the 26th August the number of cars on the Scheme remains at 1951. No Change
I have noticed some interesting facts along the way, so please indulge me:
The Ford Focus is avaialble in 98 different variants, making up 5% of the choice.
The Ford Focus (98) Ford Fiesta (51) and the Seat Leon (46) are on the podium.
There are only two manufactures that have more diesel cars listed than petrol, Citroen and Peugeot with Renault listing 39 of both. Those French love their Gazole.
Toyota are the Greenest with 42 of their 80 vehicles either a hybrid or a PHEV. The other cars are all petrol the 7 diesels listed are all Proace Verso (Van based people carrier)
More interesting facts tomorrow!August 26, 2019 at 9:05 am #86156
Looking forward to it wmc ?August 26, 2019 at 11:47 am #86166

I can report that at 9.00 on the morning of Tuesday 27th August the number of cars on the Scheme remains at 1951. No Change
Thought for the day:
Honda, Mitsubishi and Suzuki are the only Manufacturers (that offer a range of cars) on the Scheme that do not offer a diesel engine.August 27, 2019 at 10:15 am #86230
OOOOHH, bit late with today’s update, bet James is tutting over breakfast! ?August 28, 2019 at 7:49 am #86274
I’m starting to think James makes it up!
1951 vehicles on scheme. No change.August 28, 2019 at 8:16 am #86276

The exciting news is that the two new cars on the Scheme are:
Citroen C1 Manual Petrol 1.0 in Origins trim
Citroen C3 Aircross Manual Petrol 1.2 in Origins trim
The Origins trim line is to celebrate 100 years of Citroen, the two cars above join the Citroen C4 Cactus in Origins trim which joined earlier in the year, sadly the C3 Origins has been withdraw from the Scheme, presumably sold out.
You can read more here: https://www.citroen.co.uk/about-citroen/citroen-inspired-by-you/originsAugust 29, 2019 at 10:06 am #86344
Apologies for the delay in todays announcement, I keep checking to see if things have changed but sadly the total remains 1953 cars – No Change, with James presumably back on duty tomorrow all I have to take away from this experience is the Citroen Origins.
Should anyone notice the total move, post here and I will be on it faster than Boris can get to the Palace.August 29, 2019 at 9:24 pm #86387
Ha ha one has gone off the listAugust 29, 2019 at 10:35 pm #86397
Just to prove that I have no life whatsoever – The one that has disappeared is a Mitsubishi EclipseCross – I could probably work out which one but as they are changing the trims to Verve, Dynamic and Exceed it will be either a 2, 3 or 4 trim line in 2 or 4 wheel drive.August 29, 2019 at 11:42 pm #86400
Lol very good WMC
i wonder if we will have a cull tomorrow. Surely there can’t be any or many left that doesn’t comply with the new RDE ruling left available on the scheme.August 30, 2019 at 8:36 am #86409
There certainly has been a cull this morning:
1941 cars on Scheme – 11 cars removed overnight:
Mercedes CLA 2 cars – 180 and 200 without additional packs
Hyundai – 5 off. Ioniq, Hybrid and Electric
Nissan – 1 Juke removed
Vauxhall 3 off- 2 Grandland X and one Insignia Grand SportAugust 30, 2019 at 1:24 pm #86433
Oh I don’t think any of them would been RDE related (maybe the juke)August 30, 2019 at 5:28 pm #86452
