as you all know by now i can order from 28 feb and as usual its a pain looking for something suitable.

i know this wont be for all but i am on my own so only the drivers seat gets used unless loading up with compost or stuff. in future i am probably going to need a chair of some sort wheelchair or scooter but my main issue is getting in/out and sitting comfortabley.

years ago i had a suzuki vitara short wheelbase 3 door, the rear seats were invariabley laid flat, likewise later the smaller jimny was a short lived ride.

both were great because being 3 door you got more room getting in and out and you were higher up so easier to get in/out. the rear load space would be great for chairs etc.

the other option would be the commercial type with passenger cab and load space.

could motability in partnership with a manufacturer adapt something or design something maybe modular with options for the load space etc. would that be good use of motability funds.

to keep the critics happy they could paint it bluey/green.

for me what ever i look at seems to be a bunch of compromises, comfort for looks, size over need everything really is bigger than i need but i can only get comfort by increasing size.

subject to test drives its a choice at the moment between:

      c3 max hybrid

      c3 aircross max hybrid

      juke tekna hybrid

I love the look of the Jimny but I have to say, I was surprised at how small it was once I got in! A car that is function over form.

The trend these days is to get a car, say Fiat 500e and change the body to make a ‘new’ car like a Jimny. A better example would be the VW ID4 or Skoda Enyaq or Audi Q4 or . . . you get ma drift.

If you want basic, have a look at the Renault, er, I mean Dacia range!

Didn’t Kia and Motability announce a few weeks ago that the new PV5 Passenger would be available on the scheme soon? That’s absolutely massive but it has a modular seating system.

The only current smaller scheme car that I can think of on the scheme where all seats fold flat and has good entry and exit is the Hyundai Inster and Inster Cross. The Jazz Crosstar used to be good for that sort of thing but that’s no longer available on the scheme anymore.

I wish Skoda would do the decent thing …….

Bring out an electric Yeti 🙂

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

I have same issue with seats.  Skoda Enyaq I have at the moment has an electric one which moves back,  when switched off and forward, once I am in. But it is still too low for me.

Before going with Enyaq,  I ordered C5 Aircross which sadly never arrived. I loved the driver’s seat, high position and big door.

Plus it had a big boot. Perhaps their C5 Aircross EV version worth looking?

For me the price is no go, but as they have Band 1 grant,  I hope the price will drop in the coming quarters.
