you could stand it up, removing the parcel shelf as then its pretty much a cube, back there the back seats do have a more upright position you can use as well. also if you dont have back seat passengers i reckon a folded wheelchair will sit behind the drivers seat as the floor is flat all the way accross and with the rear doors opening the way they do access is easy.

Yes guys please heed James warning, once you have decided it’s for you don’t hang about.

The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.

I’ve got a 24 hour test drive next Tuesday. I will decide straight after it.

I booked the earliest test drive available within an hour of it being available on the scheme! I will be vitriolic if it has gone by the time I return the car on Thursday. Complete with new signature worthy of the “Red Tops”?

mind the way this years gone it would be just my luck for it to come off again just as i get the go ahead.

So it seems the base trim model is the best pick here at £1999 upfront and it has all the kit the others do except the interiors in the others are slightly different. Seems you can add extras but that remains a mystery until we know exactly which ones are definitely worth it or maybe none at all?. Maybe someone could post up pictures if possible of the different interiors so we can have a vote on which is the best?.

The ‘specs’ (‘Interior Worlds’ in BMW parlance) and optional extra costs are shown in the BMW i3 Price list (starting on page 22 of the price list, which is page 12/17 of the pdf and onwards) here:

                          https://www.bmw.co.uk/pdfs/price-lists/BMW_i3_PriceList.pdf

If I was going for one now, I think it would be the ‘Loft’ which I think equates with the Motability listed model  for £1147 AP.

However it is fun to play around and spec options etc.

the base atelier is my preference it still has the heated seats etc, i prefer leather the suite but not sure i would pay the difference. the i3s i wouldnt consider as all it is is a bit quicker with sportier suspension etc and bigger wheels.

I am with you, the base atelier seems to be the best value for money. If I was considering getting one. I would not really be bothered with a different looking interior, wide wheels etc. I would want better driver aides, and more comfort, to spend more money.

I’m very wary of wall charges because I read somewhere some years ago something about contracts and giving them certain rights. I don’t know! will it tell tales on me, is there a sim card in it. I’ve got a lot of questions to ask about the wall box.

Think I read 12hrs on 240v Granny and 4.5hrs on 7.7kwh home wall charger.

Watched YT video the other day about Octopus energy’s EV tariff and it only had a 4hr window at the cheap rate. Though the peak rate was good. So a wall charger is a must there.

That 12hrs would be fine for me?

Shawn you can get the box fitted, free, and if you dont want to use it just use your “granny plug”. At least you have it to use in the future.

I’ll ask if it is mine? Can I pull the breaker and remove the SIM card? Sim cards never belong to you they belong to the network it says on them. I don’t want someone else’s property on my property it gives them all sorts of rights of access. Look at the early days of solar panels when companies would fit them for free for the feed-in tariff. Then you found you couldn’t sell your house.

I am just really cynical! ?? and old and seen it all before?

I was sold an endowment mortgage in the 80’s and there has never been such a thing as a “working” TV detector van.?

i sent a request to my landlord to see if he will allow one to be fitted, but if not the granny plug will do me fine as i only go over 50 miles once a fortnight so i should only need to charge once a week.

Mitch I don’t know about your local council but some have free, or reduced rate, EV chargers in their multistory car parks. You can also ask your council to install lamppost chargers outside your home, they get a grant from government for doing this.

I thought I had read that the Zoe came with a free charging app so you can charge it for free and you can for 6 months.

So I Googled it for the BMW I3 and found this:

“New charging stations are added to the BMW Navigation System, BMW i Remote App and Website automatically as soon as they become available. Chargenow allows you to charge at over 5000 locations across the UK for just £7.85 a month (inc VAT) and with three months free.”

A fuel bill of only £7.85 a month!?
