It was simply a matter of time

Big changes are coming to Octopus Intelligent Go in 2026, enforcing a 6-hour limit for super-cheap smart charging, even if it falls within the existing 11:30 PM – 5:30 AM off-peak window, meaning longer charges over 6 hours incur higher “Bump” rates. While your whole home still gets 6 hours of off-peak rates (11:30 PM – 5:30 AM) for appliances and charging, the EV’s smart charging discount stops after 6 hours, impacting large batteries or multiple EVs needing more power, potentially increasing costs if not managed in the app.

As they say in their email, just plug-in earlier in the day, and more often if necessary.

We will still get the cheap overnight rate outside the 23:30 to 05:30 period when Octopus allow, so it’s not a strict 6 hours still.

Brought in because people were gaming the system.

        Big Changes? Not so much.

As said above no big changes, just another lazy jurno writing another non-story.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Its what smart charging does with Octopus, stops charging at 5.30.

Its just a non story with a headline to grab attention, desperate jorno,s.
