davjgI am having a test drive tomorrow of the 330d touring ,i would like the 320 petrol, so not sure how much i will get out of it. I feel very lucky to to not only get a call back from the Motorbility Specialist but also that he arranged a test drive!
Has anyone else placed an order or interested in the 3 series?
What do you think of this offer?
For me the 3 Touring is a very good car to come on the scheme and feel that £3000 + it costs in auto form, has value if you keep it for the full 5 years.

ZohaibSorry I meant touring
June 20, 2020 at 6:56 am #115608I absolutely agree Zohaib. The Sport looks just as good as the MSport. I’d have liked a digital dash but can do without…..just ?
My issue though, and it is a biggy, is that electric seats are nearly £2k and I can’t justify that. So I need to try one to see if I can get in and out without having to move the seat. I physically can’t anymore and have had electric seats for 20 years now!
I’d say get to a dealer and try one. It’s the only way you will know.
When you ask how it is around town, if you mean fuel economy, then I think you’ll be looking at low 30’s for mpg, possibly even lower if very slow traffic. But if you mean parking, etc then a friend had a diesel Touring and he says it’s fine, especially with all round parking sensors.
My X1 also has Park Assist where the car will manoeuvre itself. The problem with this is that it’s unnerving and with cars always behind waiting, I rarely use it.? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
June 20, 2020 at 9:19 am #115610A test drive would be the best bet. In the mean time check out some video reviews of the car. Carwow and Autogefuhl are my two favourites but there’s plenty of others.

And same here regarding the youtube channels. That’s what I’m doing now. ?
I don’t use Autogefuhl so much but I’m going to check a few more out now. Thanks for the recommendation. ?

June 20, 2020 at 3:04 pm #115651Just come back from the dealers having cancelled the CLA and ordered a 320i Sport saloon in Mineral Grey, with 19″ wheels.
June 20, 2020 at 3:51 pm #115655@Elliot i’m quite jealous, nice choice. I’d love the touring model, love estate’s but its the wife who drives and finds the fact its low and long off putting.

June 20, 2020 at 3:53 pm #115657Oh nice choice Elliot. ??
Do you have a date?
This puts me in a real dilemma now. Order now or wait. The age old question.
My main worry is that it will disappear off the list. My next worry is then of course….?Answers on a postcard to…..

June 20, 2020 at 4:07 pm #115659Disappointed in Halliwell Jones. They are advertising an “Exclusive BMW offer on all of their cars but when you look at it, it’s just the normal prices. Nothing “exclusive” about it at all.
Naughty. ?? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
June 20, 2020 at 4:07 pm #115660@Elliot That’s alot of car for a good price.
@BionicRusty(Wayne) BMW seem to be one of the better brands with regard to what cars that allow on the scheme I.M.O, so wouldn’t have thought it’d disappear next quarter.

Citreon C4 PicassoJune 20, 2020 at 4:13 pm #115661Hi @NewYork1 Many models have a habit of disappearing off the list, like the Audi A3 and Q3 for example. The 3 Series has been off and on more than a light switch ?
? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
June 20, 2020 at 4:15 pm #115662@BionicRusty was told it would likely be in October.
I placed the order now rather than wait for fear of it disappearing.
June 20, 2020 at 4:20 pm #115663@BionicRusty (Wayne) yes I know what you mean with our current motability lottery system. But I find BMW have embraced the scheme more rhen brands like Audi and Merc. I think they realised they do well out of it.

Citreon C4 PicassoJune 20, 2020 at 4:37 pm #115666Well we were at the dealership for quite a while today and there was only one other couple looking to possibly buy a car.

Saintsman@NewYork1
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I would have agreed until this year. BMW have taken the 225xe Active Tourer, the standard Active Tourer and the Gran Tourer off the list.
June 20, 2020 at 4:42 pm #115669@NewYork1, I hope that’s the case. Fingers crossed.
@Elliot, Wow. So two customers! I guess that could be because of limited appointments due to social distancing.
That’s the big question now. Will buyers emerge from lockdown and flood dealers with orders or will it be the opposite?? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
June 20, 2020 at 4:47 pm #115670@Saintsman yep noticed that one. I was puzzled as well, as I bet that particukar range of cars do really well on motability. Good price, space and a BMW badge. My freind got a Grandtourer last summer and it was that or the Touran for me two and half years ago.

Zohaib@bionicrusty @newyork1 yes chaps you are right I’ve been on the configurator and you’ve definitely got to pay the premium for the bits. And I think I’ll pay Marshall’s (£500 off deal) a visit next weekend to view and order to play it safe just in case if any changes on q3 I’d say let’s just all order to play it safe lol @elliot nice choice I was thinking the cla until @bionicrusty posted the 320i touring. Can’t wait to see them in person. Would just be really annoying if they also dropped in price On q3 which I don’t see happening anyway.
June 20, 2020 at 8:38 pm #115699<p style=”text-align: left;”>@Zohaib, sorry about that. ?

I’m the same. I can’t wait to get back to the dealer. I just hope I can get in and out of it.? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

LandymanUnfortunately my pip renewal date as been extended to next April because of CV 19 , so I’m going to have to wait until then to change. Knowing my luck the 3 Series touring will have been taken off the scheme.

wonkyHi Landyman, I think they have temporarily changed the rules , you now only need 6 months award to change vehicle. Hope this helps.
