Brad
Does anyone on the forum use an air fryer? I’ve heard they’re brilliant? There’s some online for £20 – £400. Also read they can save you money?? Before I consider buying one would like some more opinions on anyone who’s got/ used one. Thanks

@Kezo, No Struth hasn’t been around for a while, I also liked seeing his food offerings, hope he’s well. They are 3.2L, ideal for 2 people. They do have a 6.2L for £59. I like the look of the Sage counter top oven. Does everything a normal oven does but uses a fraction of the energy, Bald Foodie Guy on YouTube has one and uses it for everything.
I have the sage if you remember, whilst it absolutely great, it a bugger to keep clean. It also gets very hot on the outside.
I did some digging before I have the Sage smart oven airfryer and I’m almost certain its a rebadged Hisense which strangely is not available in this country. If it were, it would be cheaper than the mark up sage has applied.

The price on them varies wildly, some are £229 upto £350. There’s also a seller on eBay selling reconditioned ones, wonder if they are from people returning them due to them getting hot on the outside.

There is the smart oven pro which retails around £229 and the smart oven airfryer I have, which is around £329 at most stores. I’d be wary of buying a recon one incase an inferior heating tube has been fitted.
The big benifit, is there is a lesser need to turn/shake food halfway throgh as you would with a draw type airfryer. Russel Hobbs and Tefal (I think) do similar airfryer oven ones at less half the price with various functions but, don’t look as prety and possibly not as higher wattage.

It’s a tricky one, we are wanting a second air fryer but I do like the Sage. I watch Bald Foodie Guy on YouTube and he never uses his main oven, everything goes in the Sage. We like the Ninja we have as that’s also a slow cooker which I use regularly, slow cooked whole chicken is lovely.

I saw it and posted it, but you choose whats best for you 🙂
I prefer it as its much bigger, with the ability to fit more on and not turn all food half way through. Sage is owned by the real Breville (not the UK one) and thats why it got called Sage lol. If you search Youtube for the Breville smart oven airfryer there are far more tips tricks etc 🙂

That looks good, I like the Ninja/Shark brand, have the vacuum as well. Just need a bigger kitchen now with more counter space.

November 19, 2023 at 7:08 pm #247749I’ve had my Ninja AF for a little over one year.
Worked fantastic for the first few months then one day it was as dead as a dodo.
I tried shaking it but it was still kaput.
I then tried giving it a big wack on the top but again still nothing.
I left it for a day or so and suddenly hey presto it fired up.
Ninja sent me an identical replacement and suggested that i scrap the original.
Well, i didn’t scrap the original because it still works – but only sometimes.
The replacement from Ninja went to my local ‘Churches Together’ charity.
