Does anyone on the forum use an air fryer? I’ve heard they’re brilliant? There’s some online for £20 – £400. Also read they can save you money?? Before I consider buying one would like some more opinions on anyone who’s got/ used one. Thanks

I tried a boiled egg in the air fryer. It was perfect! I heated it up to 150c for 4 minutes and then put the egg in for 11 minutes at 150c. I dropped it into a cereal bowl with cold water just to take the heat of the shell then peeled it. Was very easy to peel. The yolk was just shy of hard boiled with a slight sheen on. When I do it again I think I’ll try 10 mins.

No more pans of boiling water for me, air fryer boiled eggs are the future.

I’ve just watched the YouTube video for the bacon and egg on toast, looks good, I’ll try and give it a go at the weekend and report back.

Out early this morning shopping for our stew ingredients, in Asda saw this £38..

Didn’t get it as that’s the aging type we have already, however 2year guarantee, might do maybe a couple or single person, work ok for us…

Couldn’t wait for the weekend and tried the bacon and egg on toast this morning.

1 slice of bread, 3 rashers of streaky bacon arranged in a ring on the bread, crack 1 egg in the middle of the bacon and season with black pepper, I think the pepper was a mistake.

Air fry for 10 min at 180C as per the YouTube video, not enough so did another 2 mins, it was very  nice indeed, it had 12 mins in total but could probably have done with 15 min.

I’d normally grill the bacon, use the hob to fry the egg and the toaster to do the toast, it’s got to be cheaper and given there in no butter on the toast and the egg is not fried it must be healthier, also hardly any washing up.

think i would just do it on hob tbh. especially as ive a induction one. i’d do toast as french style, dipped in a beaten egg and lightly fried. i sometimes make it as a sarnie and put cheese in it.. bacon done first so i get seasoning to french toast. fried egg on top at last minute.

still its interesting that it did work

Yes it needs longer it’s going to be a learning curve from here, the bread was nice an crisp but needs longer to brown off also the bacon needed longer. It was very tasty though also easy and convenient to make.

Just heard an advert for Lidl, they have Daewoo 4L air fryer for £39.99. Think they are in store Monday. Best to reserve one now if you want one.

So after missing out on the Aldi Ninja dupe. I searched for the Ninja maxi @joss has for £229, but to no avail as they are all out of stock. After much deliberating I have made the executive decission based on @Struth recomendation of the the brand I have ordered a Sage oven/air fryer £299 🙂

                                    https://www.sageappliances.com/uk/en/products/ovens/bov860.html

I am thinking I would use it alot more and retire my main oven other than using it at Xmas if needed.

Will do @joss when it arrives 🙂

It will save my back as my oven is a built under and I have to get on the floor and then struggle to get back up again. Its does alot more on top of been an air fryer. I just hope its equally as good as individual appliances.
