BradDoes anyone on the forum use an air fryer? I’ve heard they’re brilliant? There’s some online for £20 – £400. Also read they can save you money?? Before I consider buying one would like some more opinions on anyone who’s got/ used one. Thanks

September 6, 2022 at 9:23 pm #195852I have to be honest I cheat when it comes to Rice, I use a couple of Aldi two minute microwave rice sachets (one basmati one pilau for the colour …. 39p each). I chop a couple of mushrooms, a half an onion and a small amount of mixed peppers very finely, and then I add soy and stir fry then for a couple of minutes with two whole eggs well beaten. The rice is restaurant quality and takes five minutes total.
The secret of cooking in my opinion is research, imagination and a set of high quality knives.

POPS, I like the Aldi Egg fried rice pouches. I buy a sainsburys inspired to cook Chinese curry mix, add chicken, mushrooms, peas and onions, I serve with egg fried rice pouches, prawn crackers and sweet chilli sauce. Proper nice Chinese Fakeaway.

We have actually ditched the rice on Indian and Chinese takeaways, 38p from Tesco is cheaper than 3.99 from the takeaway! Takes 2 mins to cook. In fact the Iceland 99p currys and sweet and sours are pretty good, very good in fact.
October 10, 2022 at 3:42 pm #197973Iceland are selling a 4L Tower air fryer at cost £35. They say it’s to help customers cut costs when cooking. They got 20,000 on Saturday, already sold out online but may have more in store.

Mike11@Joss how do you know how long to cook things in the air fryer ? Your dual one looks great to do oven chips and frozen battered fish fillets takes 25 mins in my gas oven is it a lot quicker in the fryer ? The 2 draws do.they wash easy in hot soapy water ? Thankyou for your help
November 2, 2022 at 10:49 am #199639Hi @Mike11 Try a google search for Air fryer cooking times, it will give you loads of links that people have made for cooking times. Also there is a face book group “UK only Ninja dual zone air fryer”
Also You tube has some good videos. Regards washing the fryer draws. Very easy as they are non stick. I just rinse with hot water to remove any bits and then hot water and washing up liquid does the job in no time. Re move bottom tray and was separately. Ninja are brilliant.

ajnWe got a cheap thing from Aldi/Lidl years ago, not the best as we must keep shaking up the chips or whatever as it don’t cook even otherwise, twisty knobs as controls, bit awkward to clean out..
must get an upgrade soon

the yum asia rice cooker is great and cooks lots of other things too; it is excellent quality. its induction inside by way.
