85X dropped off at dealer this morning.
Hopefully replace the crappy 12v battery that keeps going flat and stopping KESSY etc. Also fix the non-working passenger heated seat.Gave me a 23 plate 80IV loan car, quite nice 🙂 Couple of points, The standard stereo is perfectly OK, the upgrade to the Canton in my 85X makes very little difference and is not worth the extra. The 3.x software, one thing that works better than my 4.0 is MP3’s now play properly from the USB stick It doesn’t play the same song every time you get in! It remembers the last track played and starts where it was up to when you got out. Doesn’t seem like much of a thing but after a while it really begins to annoy the Hell out of you!
Range/consumption, I know theis is a guesstimate but the 80IV is reporting 3.6mKw, mine is 2.6!. I fully charged it Monday night, at drop off this morning it’s done 50 miles in 2 days and used 29% of the battery.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

A few EV manufacturers have struggled and overcome the 12v charging problem.
But you got to remember, the more bells an whistles you have on a high spec car, the greater the drain on the 12v battery.
Maybe that is why the courtesy car was problem free?
December 4, 2024 at 10:51 am #294514The VAG group just don’t seem to be learning from each other. The 12v battery is well known as a critical part of the car so you might have thought they would instal something up to the job.
The Enyaq thread is starting to give me the willies with so many issues being raised. I hope I haven’t made a terrible mistake ordering one.
Hope you get the car back soon @Phaedra

We needed a new battery a few months into our last Octavia, wasn’t up to the job. Don’t worry about the Enyaq, we have the latest generation built in July/August and there’s no faults at all, think they’ve ironed them out.
December 4, 2024 at 3:33 pm #294536Just had a call from the dealer, really doesn’t inspire any confidence.
“I can’t find anything wrong with the drivers seat” – That’ll be because I told you it’s the passenger seat that’s faulty !
Had to explain yet again what was happening with the car going into deep sleep mode when the 12v battery drops, “how do I know it’s dropped?” because I put a test meter on it and compared it to when it works, it’s down to around 11.5v.
“So it’s only when it’s left overnight then?” – No, I just told you, I was in tesco for 20mins last night and it did it, parked at home and went back out 5 mins later as I’d left something in the car and it did it again, checked the battery and big surprise voltage was low again.
I’d already explained all of this to the service chap when I dropped the car off this morning.
He’s now going to explain it all to the “Master service tech”

December 4, 2024 at 3:51 pm #294541Just had another call, am I ok to keep the loan car?
They’re going to strip down the battery (I assume the 12v one!), apparently it’s a big job ??? I thought it was 2 bolts like any other battery!
So no further updates until tomorrow then.

December 4, 2024 at 4:32 pm #294545Mitsubishi and Toyota changed to lithium 12v battery
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Anonymous@Phaedra when my Enyaq needed a 12 volt battery it took 3 weeks for it to arrive at the dealers. It only took them 5 minutes to fit it when it finally arrived! So I don’t know what the big job is?!!
Unfortunately it didn’t solve any of my issues and in the end the dealer admitted they didn’t know what was wrong with the car after they changed the gateway control module as well. Fortunately Motability have cancelled my contract and I’m currently looking for a replacement.
its strange that the issue is with the cars 12 volt battery. When mine was really playing up I got tonnes (maybe 12) of the battery protection notifications to my phone even though the car was just sitting there. I suspected that something was running in the car when it shouldn’t have been and it was draining the 12 volt battery.
fingers crossed it solves your problems.
December 5, 2024 at 12:43 pm #294586So, just heard back from the dealer.
12v battery faulty and has been replaced.
Heated seat faulty, new seat base ordered and should be completed tomorrow.
Which is odd as others have said they’re on back order? but we shall see. Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
December 5, 2024 at 6:32 pm #294598the inconsistencies are amazing. seat base on order but its worked absolutely fine since diagnosing it has shorted out. I am sure my battery is still an issue but they dont think that it is. Wonder why they can get a seat base for you so quickly? Amazing if they can but I also wonder if the seat is now working fine too and they won’t replace it, although they will say they have!!

December 6, 2024 at 3:42 pm #294628Got a text at 10:50 this morning, car ready to pick up. So far it’s working as it should 🙂 They even gave it a bit of a wash, not much but enough to notice it’d been done 😂
As the weather here is going to be fairly horrible for the next couple of days and I have to take my daughter home tonight and do a bit of shopping followed by running through to Sunderland and back Sunday night I thought I’d see what Octopus could offer in the way of cheap charging this afternoon.
Wasn’t disappointed, fully charged by 7pm, about 35kWh and all at 7p/kW during the day 👍

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24December 7, 2024 at 8:15 pm #294679I’m slightly missing the 80iV loan car!, been in mine a few times since getting it back and the MP3 USB stick playing the same bl@@dy song every time it starts up is just so annoying!. It also seems to take mine longer to connect to Android Auto and heat up than the 80iV.
I will say to anyone thinking of upgrading to the Canton sound system it’s really not worth the money, the standard stereo is pretty decent, there’s very little difference. If I stick with Skoda in 2yrs time the 85 Edition without the pack would probably be my choice but we will see.
As it’s part of the £2035 advanced pack you do get the HUD (which is nice but not really needed), heated rear seats, heated windscreen (again not needed with pre-heating the car) and the crystal grille which I think is a complete waste of time!, only time you see it is if it’s dark and you’re opening/locking the car from in front of it.

December 8, 2024 at 12:13 am #294685Strange one how the USB plays back the same old song over and over every time you start the car. At least youve satified the Canton isn’t up to much compared to the standard setup but, life a learning curve mate and at least you will know better next time.

mine is back at the dealer with the seat base in stock now. It’s a 2 day strip down repair job for the seat- it’s quite complex apparently so i’m in a courtesy car for a few days. Ive asked them to test the battery while it sits there as I am convinced it’s still the cause of some of my glitches. Looks like I will get the car back on Wednesday as thats when I have the courtesy car until. Ironic that the seat has still worked fine since it went in to be diagnosed with a fault- I thin its a software glitch they have unknowingly cured with a vehicle plug in diagnostic but I am told that they have to fit the part. Not enjoying having a petrol courtesy car- ive aid 45 quid since collecting on Friday to keep it going. That would last me months in the enyaq!

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24December 15, 2024 at 10:30 pm #295036Two days? that’s weird, my dealer told me in the afternoon the seat base had to be replaced and had been ordered, it was replaced and ready for collection before 11am the next day.
I’m beginning to think that replacing the 12v battery and perhaps a software reset cured the problem, may be worth mentioning it.
There’s yet another two new posters on the FaceBook group today with the same problem.
I’m 99% sure my software was reset as I now get the icon telling me to lift my foot off the accelerator appearing when approaching roundabouts etc., never had that appear once in the previous 11 months of driving.

January 4, 2026 at 10:51 am #326017less than 12 months after having my passenger heated seat replaced (wasnt activating when pressing the seat heating button and dealer ‘diagnosed’ a faulty seat base), and having my 12v battery replaced because of battery protection mode, lack of keyless entry and every other common issue seen when eh battery fails I these cars…… I work up this morning to batter protection, no keyless entry and guess what, passenger heated seat no longer working. Sadly it’s a hugely common issue on the Enyaq and dealers are fobbing us off with excuses.
Its very ironic that the issue arises in the cold weather- when you want remote climate and stuff like heated seats!

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24January 4, 2026 at 11:36 am #326026Me too!, almost exactly a year later it started messing me about again 🙁
KESSY doesn’t work 95% of the time, App constantly says Battery Protection so can’t pre-heat etc. Also a new problem, open the rear doors and the interior light doesn’t come on!, once 12v battery topped up it works again!. If run the car and it tops up it then works again, however, park for say 15-20 mins doing some shopping and it fails again.
It’s in for it’s 2yr service on Thursday so I’ll let them know, they want it for a couple of days so I assume they’re doing the software updates from 4.0 to 5.4 or 5.6? Other than the front doors now vibrating noisily there’s nothing else it needs doing.

January 4, 2026 at 12:46 pm #326039ive managed to solve the heated seat by taking the fuses out today and replacing (advice given on other forums). Ive set pre heating to come on automatically every morning via the car itself and not the app. Mine will be in for a service in April – I hope it can hang on until then a is cant be bothered with the same rigmarole as last year!

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24January 4, 2026 at 5:18 pm #326058Are these Enyaq issues occurring on the new face-lift model or just the old shape Enyaq?
January 4, 2026 at 6:21 pm #326063The 12v battery problems certainly are, both Enyaq and Elroq as well as other BEV’s.

January 4, 2026 at 8:09 pm #326074I don’t know if its in any of the rest of the MEB platform (inc Audi, VW and Ford) but definitely its a common and persistent problem with Skoda. Mine has had camera modules replaced and seat base replaced when all the time, where was nothing wrong with the parts, it was the 12v battery failing. It doesn’t matter if you take it for a long drive either, it still looses charge and the car doesn’t sustain the battery.
Skoda have a big issue on their hands for warranty claims that are ongoing but they will be rubbing their hands together after the warranty period on these cars as some of the issues need them to reset the car- thats a trip to the workshop, diagnostics and labour charges…. Its terrible.

Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24January 10, 2026 at 12:59 pm #330766Ive managed to find a workaround for my 12v battery issue. I have scheduled every day at 2:00am for climate to come on. It does so for 30 minutes and then the car goes back to sleep. It seems to charge the 12v battery when active as every morning ive woken up since, the app is fine and all of my 12v issues are no longer present. I have everything like Kessy working again now.
The passenger heated seat which so many people have had replaced (ironically at a time when they have 12v issues) is solved by taking out the heated seat fuse and infotainment fuse and then putting them back in again.
I am happy to keep doing this as I am done with faffing around with dealerships.
