January 12, 2026 at 12:19 pm #331012Turn the pump on each tyre, pressure reading under 20, after quite a while no increase, good tight fit so baffled tbh
January 12, 2026 at 12:38 pm #331013Looking at images of stock MG pumps its the same as the ones I got in my Citroen and in my Kia, both would pump up tyres without the goo.
I used it a few times, both to raise low pressure and to inflate punctured tyres with the goo. Very easy to use, it can take a while to inflate as its only got a small piston.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
January 12, 2026 at 12:39 pm #331014Not really any help but yes, those types of tyre pumps should be able to fully inflate a tyre. My Enyaq one certainly does.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
January 12, 2026 at 12:42 pm #331015The slime injector pump isn’t designed to inflate tyres with air😂
January 12, 2026 at 12:45 pm #331016Thanks chaps, it seems the reading on the pump is irrelevant to the reset after starting and driving a while, the car has had a few airport runs, (another tomorrow for a short break) also a few longer trips ie Scotland..
So the tyre pressures were showing different on screen, now they’re all reading different..
Tbh the pump seems slow, the actual pressure reading isn’t registering on the pump..
January 12, 2026 at 12:58 pm #331017Think I’ll just buy something that works 🙄😆😂

Ended up with this reading now ffs, 😆😂January 12, 2026 at 2:54 pm #331027Have you taken it for a drive to reset tpms?
January 12, 2026 at 3:10 pm #331177Yeah @kezo that’s what it reset at 2nd pic…
I only wanted to top the air up, what a weird set up that pump, total crap imo
😆
January 12, 2026 at 3:25 pm #331394Yes, fine in a pinch, but not as good as a dedicated pump. I have a Ring RTC1000 cordless one for home use, saves mucking about with plugs/leads, quick on top ups and easy to use. Set the digital display to the pressure you want, hit start, wait till stops…done. It also remembers your settings , so once set for the correct pressure, just plug and go.
I also got a combined tyre inflator/battery jump starter that I keep in the car, also easy to use, but slower as its a small unit. I got it mostly to have a jump starter for the apparently inevitable EV 12v death…but never had any 12v issues yet in over 4 years & 54k miles, even though Hyundai/Kia are apparently terrible at looking after the 12v battery.
Come to think of it, I have another one similar to the OEM one in a Slime kit I’ve never used and a very small 12v one I used to carry/use on my motorcycle..sheesh, I am awash with the things!

In my sole opinion (with some experience) its not a tyre inflator and over use could cause it to over heat and damage the cylinder. Perhaps pop to the garage and pop a £1 in the machine and look to buy a small tyre infater or purchase one of @Abercol given he seems to have a shop full of them😂
January 12, 2026 at 4:48 pm #331513Well they say you learn something new everyday…
I most certainly have…
when is a pump not a pump, get an MG and find out 😂..
saying that it pumped air in, just no way of knowing how much, till you drive of and stop again..
