Hi,
My little boy has just been granted motability so we are going to use it to get a car. We need a large car due to family.
I’m looking at the Volkswagen Sharan or Peugeot 5008.
Any advice? Anyone been able to knock the advanced payments down?
I’ve got a 2010 focus now but it has 165000 miles on it so hoping for a part ex?

pay a deposit to secure the car tbh, and ask for confirmation in email to be 100% they dont sell it on.

AnonymousI have a Seat dealer within 2 miles of where I live but had a rubbish experience with them when ordering our last car. Said we would need to order car and it would be approx 16 weeks for delivery. Decided to try another dealer (50 miles away) and he told me there was a number of the car I wanted available to be brought from port and I had the car in 4 days.
I then used the same dealer this time because I don’t feel you can beat a decent dealer with good service as it makes your whole experience easier.
If you are happy with the Allspace then go for it but if it’s just for the quickness etc then think it through really carefully as it’s a buzz at the time getting a new car but you need to still be happy with it in 3 years time.

PhiljbBugger that happened to us, it’s not a great feeling , but we ended up with an amazing specced Tiguan where all the extras had already been paid for, hopefully you’ll get something similar. ??
May 20, 2019 at 7:22 pm #77359Don’t be put off just because the local Seat dealer is full of plebs, ring round and see if another dealer can find one for you.
My local Seat dealer is the biggest shile of pite ever but they can at least get me a Terraco in any spec/colour within 2 weeks as there’s a shed load in port(showed me the list on their system), I still wouldn’t use them but take that info elsewhere and get what I want.

PhiljbDon’t let distance put you off. Also don’t listen to the dealers bs that you need to pay ap up front.
We got the best deal available that suited out needs. With lots of user friendly tech.
I think now id look at the terracco but it would have to be a high spec one.
Nothing else floats ny boat at present.
Our tiguuan regularly gives an actual 50+mpg. Not bad for such a big heavy car.

AnonymousThat’s amazing Mark really quick as the wait is 22 weeks at the moment, i was looking at the allspace but the wife’s wheelchair wouldn’t fit in the boot because of the lip created by the boot cover storage area.
Now looking at the Sharan tomorrow and hopping to see if current stock available for quick delivery.
on a side note regarding AP the reason why the Torraco and Kodiaq are higher than the allspace is because they loose a lot more value over 3 years than the allspace so if your ever looking and you have the option of the same platform from different companies it will always be best to look at the most expensive as that’s more likely to have a lower AP on the higher spec models.

May 24, 2019 at 4:19 pm #77712The Tarraco can’t possibly have a % depreciation figure yet as it’s only been out a few weeks!

AnonymousIt’s based on predicted numbers which may bring the AP down by this time next year for the Tarraco.
Did anyone see the gov review of Motability that you can find on YouTube it’s very informative if you want to know how they come up with the numbers regarding AP.
