pswoffI picked up my new car this Wednesday and the dealer asked if I would like the Good condition bonus paid into my bank account or a cheque sent out. I went for payment into account and he took sort code and account number. Later the same day I got an email from Motability saying the money would be paid in to my account within 5 working days.

KevinMotability told me last week it had to be through dealer only,Motability will only send cheque, not set up yet for any other method. Not even if you set up an account that you can use to check your details. You only need to give bank details to the dealer on day of collection , not before

KevinJust so people understand how it works
When you return your car,and you have gone, the dealer checks the condition, most of this is done at the M.O.T, but checked again, the dealer then fills in a Good Condition Report online
The bottom section is how you want to be paid, filled in and sent to Motability, this form is the only way they can pay the bonus into your bank as all linked together, with all the info they need. hope this helps
March 13, 2021 at 11:31 am #142297@Kevin Thanks for clearing that up. I was not aware that is how it is done. Mainly because no dealership has ever mentioned this to me regarding GCB.

DanteThat’s good they’ve changed it so the GCB can be paid into ones bank directly. Sending the cheque out, although quite quick was just more hassle. Plus I’ve always been known by my Secunderabad name but they always put cheque in my first name – which caused lots of hassle zzzzz
Having it paid directly into the bank account makes sense all round.

Robert<p style=”text-align: left;”>Don’t know if things have changed but i received my gcb straight into bank by motability last April because of cv did not get new vehicle until September so no dealer involvement for it to be sent to my bank account motability done it .</p>

KevinCopy from Motability website , so no dealer would not be needed
This GCB payment can be brought forward to provide support during the COVID-19 situation, ensuring that customers in need have access to money during a period when they may need it most. Please note that customers who choose to take this payment early would not therefore receive a further GCB at the end of contract – a point when some customers like to put this towards an Advance Payment on their new car. The advance of the GCB can only be paid once per customer.
