    Which Mobility Car

I think it’s not more popular for a number of reasons:

It is only front wheel drive

It has a pointless towing capacity of 800kg which means it can’t pull any caravan

It is not a plug in Hybrid

It can only muster 57.6 miles per gallon which is the same as the diesel which can pull 1600kg

The 2.5 litre petrol engine is not very quiet and it has a CVT gearbox, which is necessary as power comes from two sources, but it revs quite high.

The batteries used are old fashioned nickel metal hydride

When compared to the Mitsibushi PHEV, which is now not on the Scheme, it seems outdated.

George, WMC has given some good reasons why it’s not popular, I’ll add one more. The salesman told me proudly, that when you come off the motorway the electric motor can take you between 1 and 2 miles on it’s own! So all those motorway miles result in a tiny “electric bonus”. The real MPH is much lower than published because of an old fashioned engine and an ancient battery pack combination!

That’s off the list then it sounds diabolical.
