Freedom, to chose is important Brydo, and as far as the choice of vehicles for leasing via Motability is concerned,it presents us with a massive choice you must agree, a choice which should be enough to satisfy most of us?
However, by choosing danger and risk over safety is perhaps where choice should be limited, and we all think that we are the World Best Driver, but frankly we are not all Michael Schumacher, and we see evidence of bad driving every day, probably by driver’s who really do think that they are the best, and simply will not take criticism!
We have limits on very many things in life, especially driving , for example the level of alcohol whilst driving is set for us, & no one who has seen the ‘result ‘ of accidents involving drunk drivers ‘lying on a slab’, would argue against limits being rigorously enforced, and the same applies to the danger of using a mobile phone/texting whilst driving?
Thus we have speed limits imposed upon us (whether we agree with the levels set or not) for safety’s sake, not just for the vehicle passengers , but for pedestrians also, and a host of other quite valid reasons, and we accept them for what they are , mostly without complaint, yet somehow, when limits are placed on the vehicle rather than due to the environment, we complain?
We would be asking for those who are jealous of the disabled getting anything better than they can get, to heap even more criticism on Motabilty , in Parliament and the Daily Mail, if they allowed too many Ferraris and Porsche’s onto the scheme?
