There may come a day when a solar panel on the roof of the car, or all around as ive seen on another article, produces enough energy to charge your ev but its not just now.
I think the solar panels on the space station are about 40% efficient but cost thousands of pounds. The efficiency of these panels will be no where near this. So the solar panel on the roof of a car will help charge the battery but not by very much.
