Why not have all the able bodied criminals out digging roads/drainage repairing potholes, cutting the grass and branches , sweeping up the debris and road kill heping to build new roads/motorways rather than sitting in their cell watching Sky, working out in the gym ( so they can be even more intimidating on their release ) meeting other dead beat contacts to plan their next get rich scheme
im sure the cost is close to £2 million per mile of motorway built these days
its an untapped resource when they could be out working every day , paying their debt to society and help making the place a better place to live , perhaps some would even learn a new trade and discover a better purpose in life and less likely to reoffend
