You can submit details/claim online Samantha, with a photo. It’s really easy, I had to do it myself recently when a stealth bollard attacked my car without either warning or provocation!
RSA contacted me back and said it would be considered as wear and tear and sent me written proof that that as what they had told me etc. Damage was in passenger door but no bare metal exposed.
