Oscarmax it is a difficult one as there will be lots of people using electricity who don’t have evs, so putting tax on all electricity won’t wash. I do believe however that the new smart meters can differentiate between ev use and domestic use. As you say its likely to be a few years before this happens as EV’s gradually increase in numbers and the fact the government won’t need to pay electricity suppliers billions to switch off wind farms and hydro plants overnight due to lack of demand. All the EV’s charging overnight will do away with this.
