Hey Wigwam, I read your original comment twice and it could’ve read a little sarcastically with the “…not rely on the odometer…” bit. It could’ve been read as if it was a sarcastic comment telling me that if I didn’t trust the mpg calculator then I could just as well not trust the odometer. It was just another normal text only ‘could be taken another way’ moment – my bad. I guessed that wasn’t your intention hence my little wink in my reply. 🙂

As an aside, it’s very interesting to learn that the Honda Jazz readouts are accurate. I really don’t know the reason why other manufacturers don’t/won’t/can’t do the same. The Astra I have is beyond a joke it’s that far out and I cannot for the life of me work out what they (Vauxhall/GM) had to gain by making it so. We all know that real world vs NEDC is totally incomparable, so why bother trying to exacerbate the problem further?

(I’m not the only one who sees it as an annoyance as over on Astra K forums there was a thread full of people with the same mindset.)

(Sorry for slight derailment of thread people. I’m male, over 50 and (have a medical need to) moan occasionally.)
