Chris all will be fine as you can see from the table below at present only 20% of the total energy used by uk housholds is electricity. I do agree that more electricity will need to be generated in the future as all cars become EV`s. Without getting into the specifics there are very efficient ways to turn gas into electricity within the home, much more efficiently than gas powered power stations. So with continued investment in wind, hydro and solar and by keeping windfarms and hydro plants on all night rather than switching them off due to low electricity demand, i think we will be just fine.
