Now in the middle of my test drive, picked it up at 9am, now 11.15. The car is much better than the old Kuga, pretty quiet, handles well, but also rides well, not too much bump/thump and this is the ST-Line on 18″ wheels with the sports suspension.
The car has done 2000 miles and the trip says 46.5mpg, I reset it, drove up the dual carriage way for 35 miles @indicated 75, then off across country for 40 odd miles & currently showing 55mpg. A comfy place to be, although the seats are smaller than the S-Max’s armchairs. Its pretty quick too, seems quite muscular for a 150hp car, plenty of get-up and go (could just be its 300 odd kgs lighter than the S-Max…lol).
Rear seat room is very generous and the boot looks bigger than the figures suggest, although the boot floor is pretty high (this 2.0 diesel mild hybrid has a weird lump underneath the boot floor – probably the battery).
Sync 3 runs faster than in my S-Max, so the processing gubbins must be quicker and the screen is very sharp. The reversing camera is full HD & gives pin sharp views, best I’ve seen in a car so far.
The car does not seem particularly low rent interior wise, certainly not as grim as some reviews have said, but not overly plush either.
Overall I’d be happy to take one, and, depending on my other test drives may well do so!
